Sound Control v2.45 BETA – An Alternative Freeware Windows Sound Mixer And Volume Control Applet Has Been Released

Sound Control v2.45 BETA the freeware replacement Windows Sound Mixer and Volume Control applet supporting hot keys, on screen display, Winamp and more has now been released. Changes in this version include:

  • Added – Application – General – If mixer has default volumes set this is now indicated by the volume percent being display in bold
  • Added – Application – General – Show Options At Startup option to Splash and Options screen

  • Added – Application – General – Right click on hot key label for popup menu with option to reset hot key
  • Fixed – Application – General – Better handling of reseting of hot keys when they are no longer required
  • Fixed – Application – General – If Vista is detected all mixer related and other unsupported options are now automatically disabled unless running in compatibility mode
  • Fixed – Application – General – Various changes to enable Sound Control to run in Vista in compatibility mode more smoothly
  • Fixed – Application – General – If standard sound mixer can’t be found the appropriate menu items are now disabled
  • Fixed – Application – General – Friendly error messages are now displayed instead of a file not found error if default sound mixer can’t be found
  • Fixed – Application – General – Multiple sound device problems displaying List Index Out Of Bounds error
  • Fixed – Application – General – On Screen Display – Select/No Select for appropriate recording mixers instead of Loud/Mute
  • Fixed – Application – General – Cut/Copy/Paste popup menu removed on all hot key text boxes

  • Fixed – Application – Mixers – Workaround added for some problematic sound drivers so mixers stay in synchronisation
