How Do I Uninstall?

If you wish to uninstall a Really Effective product select the uninstall option from either of the following locations.

Start - Programs - Application Name - Uninstall
Start - Settings - Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs

Uninstalling will remove all related settings within the registry together with the files installed to your Program Files\ folder. If you reinstall you will need to respecify your your hot key specifications and other options.

Uninstalling will remove corresponding settings from within the registry and files installed to your Program Files\ folder. Any files created after you installed (for example your \Logs folder containing your call log should not be removed. If you reinstall you will need to respecify you time bands and other options.

Before uninstalling or reinstalling any software you should ensure you have adequate backups of your data files, installing or uninstalling Really Effective products should be no exception to this rule.

This problem appears to be related to Norton AntiVirus 2002 and ’s Automatically Display Song Title When It Changes option. It has been reported that users of Norton AntiVirus 2001 can run LiveUpdate to download an update so this CPU usage problem does not occur. It is unclear at this stage whether the program causing this problem is NAV2002 or . Whilst investigating this problem users of NAV2002 can continue to use but the Automatically Display Song Title option must be unchecked / off. This problem also affected NAV2003. It however appears a LiveUpdate in NAV2003 and/or using Winamp v5 seems to solve this problem and the Automatically Display Song Title can be used if required.

Sound Control Is Unable To Control Winamp v3 (but works fine in Winamp v2 and v5)?

It is recommend you use Winamp v2 or Winamp v5 as Winamp 3 does not support the programming interface which uses to remotely control Winamp. A 3rd Party has developed an add-in (called Winamp 2 Plugin Manager) for Winamp 3 which emulates the functionality of Winamp 2 which requires. After installing this add-in will have limited control over Winamp 3.

Testing was carried out 31 October 2002 if a newer version of Winamp 2 Plugin Manager has been released since more support may now be available.

The Winamp 2 Plugin Manager is no longer available - you will need to use Winamp v5+ or v2.

The following hot key functions work:

  • Next
  • Pause
  • Stop
  • Fast Forward
  • Rewind
  • Preferences
  • Volume Up
  • Volume Down
  • Open Winamp
  • Loading Of Playlists

The following hot key functions do not work:

  • Previous
  • Jump To File
  • Information
  • Fade To Mute
  • All options marked *
  • On Screen Display Of Song Title

will never fully support Winamp 3 it is recommend you use Winamp v5+ or Winamp v2.

Many thanks goes out to the two individuals who have been the first visitors to post to the support forum. As you may or may not be aware both and are in the process of undergoing a major rewrite. To help reduce the number of e-mails I am receiving so I can concentrate on the development of new releases of , and other projects I am pleased to announce the availability of the Support Forums. A separate forum is available for General Support and Suggestions for each application together with a Special Thread detailing Posting Rules. A Guestbook forum is also available so you can express your support and help ensure that Really Effective products stay freeware. If you are a long standing, experienced or user and you wish to be considered to be a forum Moderator keep reading. If you have time to spare to check and reply to new messages and follow-ups on a regular / daily basis please let me know together with appropriate details. Details could include number of years you have been a user and other similar qualifications.

An Index Out Of Bounds Error And Duplicate Mixers Are Listed With Multiple Device Support Enabled?

This is a known problem and is currently being investigated. The current workaround to solve these issues is to disable multiple device support. You may need to uninstall and then reinstall if you are unable to display the Options screen. Please note that uninstalling and reinstalling the application will reset your application settings.

Launch Of New Site Design

It has taken several months but welcome to the new Really Effective web site. The site is now database driven which will make it easier to update which will lead to more application releases, pro-active information on the status of BETA’s and better support via FAQ’s and a new forum. Over the coming months you can now expect updates to and together with hopefully some brand new applications.

Threat To Launch Shareware Applications

You have probably noticed the addition of a Shareware* category in the menu bar. Currently this is empty but the plan is to release a series of brand new applications building on the success of and . *It has not been decided whether these new applications will be released as Shareware or not. Since the release of and as freeware e-mails containing feedback have been greatly reduced (not the effect I wanted) but downloads of both applications have increased dramatically. The future of Freeware is in your hands.
